"This is not about charity. This is a way of community… That’s all."
~ Tad Hargrave
How can I offer my individual Esalen massage, Jin Shin and Coaching sessions in a way that makes them both sustainable for me to offer and accessible to everyone who feels drawn to come?
Lowering session prices below a certain threshold, will guarantee burn out for me. Setting a fixed price to acknowledge the expenses, time, energy, training and experience brought in, will make sessions inaccessible for many.
Hence my choice to offer both sliding scale and pay-what-you-can pricing options.
What does this mean?
I invite you to feel into what is financially viable for you to contribute between £50 and £75 for a session. If this is out of your reach, thank you for getting in touch about the pay-what-you-can option. If you are able to contribute at the higher end, thank you for supporting others on a tighter budget in this way.
What can this bring up?
This way of pricing can bring up lots of stuff around money. You may have little sense of what related treatment and coaching sessions generally cost and feel indecisive. You may want to contribute more than your budget allows and that inner tension can be really uncomfortable. You may find money decisions challenging and just go for the half way mark on the given scale to deal with this.
The bigger picture
From my experience to date, I have come to trust that the average income per session balances out between what everyone is able and happy to contribute. It is this overall impact, thanks to everyone who comes for sessions and each person’s spirit of generosity to give - and to receive! - that makes it possible for me to offer this pricing structure.
Comparative pricing (June 2021)
Pricing for related services in Moray may be useful to consider. The following spas offer the bonus of leisure facilities, though sessions are shorter and not personally tailored.
The deeper intention
I would like you to feel really good about what you contribute, trusting that the sum you come up with is perfect.
You may be able to contribute on the higher end of the sliding scale, knowing that you are supporting someone else in receiving a session. You may be able to contribute on a pay-what-you-can basis knowing that someone else has already paid forward for you.
In the process, through giving and receiving, we forge community together.
How to find the contribution that is right for you?
Please take a quiet moment to both think about the reality of your financial situation and to sense into your heart what amount feels good to give. Then whole-heartedly go with that!
And, thank you for being part of our community of well-being...
(Gratitude to Tad Hargrave for inspiring this approach)
